A Note of Thanks

Hello crafters!

We wanted to share this thoughtful note that was included in a batch of scarves that we received.  This crafter found us through a mutual friend on Facebook.  Thank goodness for social networking!
Kerry is from Washington state!  How cool is that?

Special Delivery

Yesterday we delivered all of the beautiful & creative scarves to St. John's Shelter.  There to receive them was Rachele Burton, Community & Government Relations Manager.  She was warm &  caring, obviously she loves what she does.  Her office was filled with toys that another group had donated and she was happy to add our gifts to the pile.  We even got a tour by one of the residents, who was also warm and caring.  Again, thank you so much for participating.

We are going to take a break from crafting until after January 1 so that you can spend time with the ones you love for Christmas.  God bless you all.

Much to be thankful for

Scarves, scarves and more scarves!  I am so very thankful for everyones willingness to help with our first project for Craft 4 Change.  I picked up over 30 yesterday from some "crafty ladies"...they are beautiful!

As soon as all of them are collected (there is still time!), they will be counted and delivered to the ladies and children who are staying at St. John's Shelter.

Wishing everyone a very Happy Thanksgiving, filled with warmth and love.

More Time!

Hello crafters,

As the deadline approaches for "Wrap Them In Love", so do the holidays.  So...we are extending the deadline until December 1st.  This will give you a little more time to complete your scarves, plus they will be delivered to St. John's Shelter a bit closer to Christmas.

We will be taking a break once this project is complete until after the holidays.  A new project will be announced after New Years Day.  Don't forget to sign up to be notified via Email.

November already!

Hello crafters!  Hard to believe it is November already. A beautiful warm, sunny day.  The leaves are starting to turn colors and fall from the trees, jack-o-lanterns are used up and signs of Christmas are starting to show up in the stores. Wow...where did October go?

It looks like you are all keeping busy with our first project.  We have seen several of them and boy are you creative!  Keep up the great work.

Make sure to let us know when your scarves are finished and we will make arrangements to collect them.  Send us an email at:  craft4change@hotmail.com

Thanks...and happy crafting!

"Wrap them in LOVE" -- Project 1

With cooler weather just around the corner, it seems fitting to make our first project warm scarves.  The women and children of St. John's Shelter in Sacramento will benefit from your works of love.

St. John's Shelter provides a safe place for these families to stay until they can get back on their own.  Most people never thought that they would be homeless or staying in a shelter.  The uncertainty of ones future can be a little scary at times and we want to let them know that we care.  Sometimes, just a warm gesture will put a smile back on a face.

Scarves can be knit, crochet, sewn or cut from fleece (no sewing needed!)  Add fringe, trims, beads, etc.  Get your creative juices flowing...the possibilities are endless!  Please remember, these are for women AND children (boys too!).

Deadline for this project is November 20th.  December 1st  COMPLETED.

When you are finished with your scarves, please email us and we will make arrangements to collect them.  We are still setting up a permanent mailing address.
